I guess it was in the early 1990's when three guys had this idea of corralling manufacturers toying with alternative fabrics to cotton so they could be presented to store buyers who were looking for such products. There had been some bad press lately about cotton's high use of water, fertiliser and pesticides which was encouraging new growth in ecologically minded manufacturers. We were called "Three High Guys" back then, still are by some of our long time clients, and that's OK with us. We would distribute the wholesale price from the manufactures to the buyers and act as conciliator in pursuit of a smooth transaction between the two.

• It was hustle to the next clothing convention somewhere on this planet earth with tons of catalogs from all the manufacturers we had talked to, set up a booth, and talk till blue in the face trying to entice and inform the store buyers of what was going on in our corner of the world. I think we kept the post office in business with all the mailing of parcels full of catalogs. To be frank, it was an industrial hemp world of hats saying 'don't smoke me', somewhat scratchy shirts and lip balm made with hemp oil.

Early 2000's. First we registered the name "ThreeHighGuys.com". Then there were some inevitable company changes, a name change to "THG Eco Network", we started the domain name thgeconetwork.com. But we kept using the domain name 'threehighguys.com' for web business. Let's say for sentimental reasons along with no desire to make all the required changes to a cart system that was working fine and all the email addresses. Our clients were used to them the way they were. Only new people had to get used to it and only if using the new URL. By now we saw the saving and quickness of doing business on-line. Not that we gave up on the old ways but by now many of our clients had computers and web access. • Quality and selection of products improved vastly. Clothing styles comparable to and superior to any seen in department stores. Super soft blends along with improved fabric processing were seen everywhere. Movie and T.V. Celebrities were talking about wearing clothing made from hemp. We lost a few manufacturers and gained some new ones too. Saw the addition of some Eco based paper products, pet supplies, candles, cosmetics, products made from recycled rubber and some other interesting nicknacks. While we are getting used to being able to show all the products to buyers within a shopping cart designed for wholesale buying.

Mid 2008 - let's stop these name changes already! Now it's "Eco 1 network". New URL of course "eco1network.com". Still using threehighguys.com for web business (see above). I guess it's good. It completely gets rid of the "H" and "High" part of the old name that "never" meant what "most" people thought but did work well for recognition in the old days. A lot of time has passed since this idea was launched. More new ecological ideas show up.

• The Manufacturing continues to improve as competition increases and buyers become more fastidious. Hemp induced products continue to improve and expand as we are seeing the infusion of products made from Bamboo. Another promising alternative fabric to cotton and industrial hemp. A new addition we are proud of is BioBag. The "bag from corn". An Ecological alternative to the shopping bag. Organic Cotton products are still here. We may no longer carry an off the shelf hemp baseball cap with the imprint "Don't Smoke This Hat", an argument in favour of the name change(s) but we can still get you one. How about a few hundred with your company logo? We still have the lip balm, and can arrange for a few hundred with your company logo imprinted on the label. Lot's of women's and men's clothing and clothing accessories made with the Ecology in mind. All this, and all still available at the manufacturers wholesale price, all in one place.
